I believe that we can apply smart design, technology and behavior change to create really fulfilling, compelling lifestyles that allow us to live within our means financially and environmentally and that a simpler life is a happier one.
I think that there’s a real role for well designed things that make our lives better yet are also environmentally sensitive.

Whether something is made by hand or a 3D printer, craftsmanship is something that transforms the ordinary and disposable into the timeless and enduring. A good friend of mine, Saul Griffith, coined the term "heirloom design." It’s the idea that our products should be worthy enough to be handed down through several generations. It's a lost art that I hope will return soon.
