The Art Of Tailoring
Along the Adriatic coast in Italy’s Marche region lies Portonovo, home to a rich tradition of tailoring that has endured for generations. Here, the Lardini family operates a renowned tailoring facility, where craftsmen bring an intimate knowledge of their trade to John Varvatos suiting.
The facility itself has undergone a remarkable evolution. Once a small, informal operation, it has grown into a state-of-the-art center for production while maintaining knowledge and passion at the heart of its work. Its story is closely tied to the surrounding community, with nearly half of the village now employed there.
Creative Director Karl Ålberg first visited the facility in 1999. Returning decades later, he found a transformed operation and the same dedication to tailoring that had left an impression on him years before.
“Knowing that this factory represents the pinnacle of ‘Made in Italy’ and global tailoring quality, and hearing the inspiring story of the brothers who started it with nothing in their youth instills in me deep respect.”
— Karl Alberg, Creative Director

The Three-Piece Suit
Traditionally associated with formal menswear, the three-piece suit now finds relevance beyond special occasions in the modern wardrobe. Crafted in Italy, this pinstripe ensemble brings together a tailored jacket, coordinating vest and pants. Worn as a complete look or styled as separates, the pieces offer effortless versatility.
