John Varvatos

The Studio

Founded in 2000, John Varvatos emerged in New York City with a distinct approach to American menswear: uniting old-world craftsmanship with the rebellious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. The debut collection of tailored clothing and sportswear was recognized with the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for New Menswear Designer in its inaugural year, followed by Menswear Designer of the Year honors in 2001 and 2005.

In the years that followed, the brand expanded into footwear, accessories, eyewear and fragrance, while establishing a growing presence at the intersection of fashion, music and culture. A longstanding collaboration with Converse introduced new interpretations of the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell sneakers, while the opening of 315 Bowery in the former home of legendary music club CBGB created a lasting connection to New York City’s underground music history. Together, these milestones established John Varvatos as a cultural presence extending far beyond the boundaries of menswear.

As we look to the future, John Varvatos remains committed to challenging convention and exploring new possibilities in design. Continuing to collaborate with creative minds across disciplines, we look to the next chapter with the same curiosity and ambition that have carried us this far.

Fall 2026 Lookbook

At John Varvatos, the individual has always come before the garment. Rather than prescribing a uniform, our designs are intended to complement the person wearing them.

“What I love most about our offering is that it provides an opportunity for self-expression, allowing the clothing to serve as an extension of yourself. I always want the person to be noticed first and the clothing second.”

— Karl Alberg, Creative Director

Capsules

Tom Petty x John Varvatos
Spring 2026

John Varvatos celebrated 50 years of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with a limited-edition capsule honoring an icon of American rock ‘n’ roll. GRAMMY winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, the band defined an era with a sound and authenticity entirely their own.

Drawing from Petty’s effortless stage presence and lived-in style, rich suede, hand-finished leather, Western influences and archival details reinterpret his unmistakable attitude for a new generation.
