      In 1968 Ron Pownall landed a job with the Chicago Tribune. He found himself in the middle of the Democratic Convention riots. His first music assignments were Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Cream.After three years with the Trib, he moved to Boston, where he immersed himself in the burgeoning music scene. He started working with Aerosmith in ’73 and Boston in ’76, relationships that have lasted 30+ years. He has photographed Elton John, Queen, J.Geils Band, The Cars, Meatloaf and Ted Nugent, among others, for album, publicity and tour shoots.
